A lot of people will tell you to just “get over it” or remind you it is in the past, but those of us who have been through it understand that trauma remains in the mind, body and soul no matter how long ago it happened.

Thankfully, there are many ways to heal yourself from trauma, and I want to share with you some of the best I have found in my own journey to wholeness.

Autumn winds play with skeletal leaves. They skitter about your feet like discarded paper- like stillborn poetry. Your eyes are caught by a bright patch of moss and you struggle to keep it in focus. Your thoughts pile up like carcasses, and everything is dying. Everything is dying.

Relic

Relic

I could care less,
but I’ll never know how.
I am a relic
from another dimension-
I cannot breathe this atmosphere.

Floating

Floating

I promise you that learning to let go is the most precious gift you can give to yourself. You deserve that gift. You did not come here to be unhappy, to be full of pain. As you release, you make space; and into that space floods light. And in that bright light you will see yourself as you truly are- in your divinity, in your completeness. Bathed in bright light, you reclaim your power. In light you can meet yourself, you can know your essential nature. Unfettered. Unburdened. As Is. And in that light, you will Know.
